Free the alien zine is a bilingual experimental zine that represents my journey of self-expression and finding my voice using art and the many different mediums I chose throughout the journey. It starts with a few sentences which describe my lack of self-expression, and then the number of words increases. I used illustrations that translated the feeling I used to express myself and illustrated myself into a character with purple skin to represent the alienated self/ thoughts. The color scheme used were colors I mostly used when creating art. Moreover, the zine was English-dominated, but the Arabic was expressed in a larger form in the last few pages to show that I became more comfortable expressing my thoughts loudly. The overall style I used was a handwritten-like typeface and manipulated with letters to look more fluid.
