Architype 3D MODEL

This project is an Arabic archetype physical 3d model for an exhibition called "embrace the absurd." That aims to express absurdity from my point of view by using any objects or materials that fit my sentence. This art piece targets typography and art lovers who are interested in exploring diverse mediums.

The sentence chosen is "دمبوشي, دمبوشي" which is used initially as a spell/ casting a spell. But people use it in the context of playing with a group of people when you want to jinx other players as a joke and not in a serious manner. So, the 3d model is a tapestry that hangs on walls or doors—made from yarn, fabric, and a wooden stick as a base for tapestry. Also, the technique used to create the 3d model was punch needling.

To reflect the absurdness and playfulness in the design, the meem(م) and waow (و) letters are shaped like the blue eyes that are used as protection from any evil. The juxtaposition of the phrase as a spell and the design shaped like the blue eye as a protection symbol creates irony and absurdity. Furthermore, complementary solid colors (blues, orange, and white) support the typographic visual elements.
